The final series of “The Crown” has released its first images, hinting at storylines including Princess Diana’s relationship with Dodi Fayed. In this season, Diana, played by Elizabeth Debicki, is seen in a car with Dodi, as well as on a yacht owned by Dodi’s father, Mohamed Al Fayed.This season, inspired by real events, continues to narrate the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and the events that shaped it. Following five successful seasons, this upcoming sixth installment is set to be the final one.

This season will be released in two parts, with the first four episodes launching on November 16, focusing on the couple’s relationship before the tragic car crash in Paris that took their lives. The second part of the series will air from December 14.

The released images also show Mohamed Al Fayed, played by Salim Daw, who was introduced in the fifth season. The portrayal of his relationship with Diana will be explored further in this season.

“I think it’s a really unique challenge as an actor to portray those days,” Debicki said of playing Diana, while Abdalla described playing Dodi Fayed as “the honor of my life.”

Imelda Staunton and Dominic West return as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, respectively. Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards play William and Harry.

Staunton, who took over the role from Olivia Colman and Claire Foy, expressed her comfort with the character, saying, “I’ve been living with her for a long time, so, if anything, I felt more comfortable this time.”

As the series reaches the Golden Jubilee, Queen Elizabeth reflects on the monarchy’s future with Charles and Camilla’s marriage and the emergence of a new Royal fairytale in William and Kate.

Diana’s Death to Be Handled Sensitively

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, executive producer Suzanne Mackie assured that Diana’s death would be handled sensitively in this season. Diana and Dodi Fayed tragically died on August 31, 1997, in a car crash in Paris.

Mohamed Al Fayed passed away peacefully in August at the age of 94.
