Why travel abroad when you can experience some of the most iconic spots in Hollywood history on your own doorstep?

The UK is a great place to take a trip. And if you’re a fan of the best of British television like Downton Abbey or The Crown, there’s several towns you should visit.

Xavier Collins, vice president of Turo UK, said: “At Turo, we’re passionate about adventure and enabling people to get where they want to go, whether that’s down the street or across the pond. We know that TV and film is a great source of travel inspiration with ‘set-jetting’ an ever-growing trend.”

The app compiled a list of several UK sites that will transport fans to the sets of their favourite TV shows.

Wilton House, Wilton – The Crown

The 14,000-acre estate, which is only an hour and a half drive from London, was the filming location for Buckingham Palace in The Crown. It boasts regal state rooms, landscaped gardens and ornate decor. The Crown isn’t the only show filmed there, as fans of Bridgerton, Emma and Tomb Raider will recognise the property.

Highclere Castle, Hampshire – Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey fans will recognise the iconic exterior of Highclere Castle immediately. Only an hour from London, the 5,000-acre estate offers tours, events and more.

Chatsworth House, Derbyshire – Pride and Prejudice

Get a peek inside Mr. Darcy’s home from the 2005 Pride and Prejudice by visiting Chatsworth House in Derbyshire. The 25-room property is about an hour and a half drive from the Manchester Airport.

Ranger’s House, Greenwich – Bridgerton

While Wilton House was the home of Queen Charlotte, Ranger’s House was the set of the titular family in Netflix’s Bridgerton. It was once a residential property but is now open to the public for tours, and it’s only an hour drive from London.

Dyrham Park, South Gloucestershire – Sanditon

There’s a large following for the recent television adaptation of Jane Austen’s lesser known literary work. The 270-acre Dyrham Park was the set of Sanditon, offering wildflower orchards and idyllic ponds outside the baroque-style house.

Somerleyton Hall, Suffolk – The Crown

Another location from The Crown, Somerleyton Hall offered the set for Sandringham Estate in season 4. A three and a half hour drive from London, it offers 12 acres of spectacular gardens for the public to explore.
